Philosophy

Our Philosophy consists of three components:
Our Corporate Philosophy,
Our Company Motto, and Our Operating Policies.

Corporate Philosophy

Respect for Humanity

The philosophy of human respect consists of three pillars.

Independence

Voluntarism means that each individual should think freely about what is necessary to achieve goals and act proactively in the most appropriate way, rather than acting passively based on instructions from others.

Fairness

Fairness means recognizing and respecting each individual as they are, rather than judging them based on preconceived notions or past impressions. It means that motivated people are given equal opportunities in free competition.

Trust

Trust means that we want to maintain a mutually trusting relationship with each other in the workplace. Trust comes from each of us thinking and acting with integrity. It begins not by demanding integrity from others, but by doing one’s part with sincerity.

Three Pillars

Pursuit of Technology

Recent technological innovations are progressing at a rapid pace, and the latest technology may soon become obsolete. Without constant development of new technologies, a company will not be able to grow in the future, making the pursuit of technology even more important.
Pursuit does not mean pursuit in the sense of endlessly pursuing, but rather to inquire and pursue to the end.

Contribution to Society

Both companies and individuals live in society. As a business person, it is natural for a company to be expected to be a good member of society, and in the same way, a company’s premise and reason for existence is to be useful to society.
The concept of “making effective use of the resources entrusted to us by society and returning them to society in the form of superior products” is one that our company has adhered to since our founding.

Company Motto

We provide the world with competitive and excellent products widely with our unique technology.

Founding Origins

Established in Kawagoe City, Saitama Prefecture in 1963.
Honda’s founder Soichiro Honda’s younger brother Benjiro Honda’s passionate sense of mission to

“contribute to society through technology”

was inherited and still lives on as the cornerstone of our corporate activities.

Founding Concept

At the time of the company’s founding, aluminum mass production methods were becoming widely used, and the industry was undergoing a major transition from iron and copper to aluminum alloys. Benjiro, who was aware of this, focused his attention on the fields of plastic forming and casting, especially the metal mold casting method, because aluminum alloy materials were relatively inexpensive and the processing methods were simple.
At that time, aluminum alloy was generally processed by rolling, die casting, and shell molding, and the sand casting and metal molding methods, which have the longest history, received less attention. However, even though die casting and shell molding are suitable for mass production, they have problems in strength and formability of complex shapes. On the other hand, the die casting method had the potential to add significant technological value, such as high strength and the ability to mold complex shapes such as undercuts.
Benjiro was daring to use the metal mold casting method, which was a side stream, saying, “If this casting method can be made mass producible, we can introduce a variety of products that will form the basis for the future. He established Honda Foundry Co., Ltd. as a company specializing in innovation of mold casting technology, which was a side stream of the traditional mold casting method.

Company name changed to Honda Foundry Co., Ltd.

Five years have passed since the company was founded, and management has begun to take off. Compared to when the company was founded, when there was no foundation, the corporate image, employee growth, and activity of the production organization are now reflected in the products, and the foundation of the company has been established in its own way.
On the occasion of its fifth year in business, the company held an extraordinary shareholders’ meeting on August 1, 1969, and resolved to change its trade name (company name) in order to strongly appeal to the challenge of taking an even bigger leap forward, in accordance with the intention of the founder.
